London Grammar is an ‘art rock’ three piece who first came
together at Nottingham university. Hannah Reid (vocalist) and Dan Rothman
(guitarist) first began writing music together during their first year, and
were soon to be joined by Dot Major (keyboard, drums).
The first thing that you are going to notice about London
Grammar is Hannah Reid’s potent and beautiful vocals. Everyone all over the
internet is comparing her to Florence Welch, and yes she does sound similar but
she isn't just a simple rip off or copy. Reid’s vocals are powerful and
stunning to listen to.
Another note is their simple sound, yet it’s so capturing and
wonderful to listen. Their chilled vibes and simple melodies truly hypnotise
the listener. They self-released their 2013 debut EP ‘Metal & Dust’ which
reached the top 5 of the iTunes chart in Australia.
The album ‘If You Wait’ comes out September 9th
and is sure to be highly anticipated.
